Postcards from Buster – Adventures, Friendship, and the World Through a Bunny’s Lens

From rock bands to rodeos, Postcards from Buster turned travel into friendship — blending animation and real life to show kids the beauty of the world beyond Elwood City.

A spin-off of the beloved PBS series Arthur, Postcards from Buster debuted in 2004 and took a more adventurous turn. Following Buster Baxter, Arthur’s easygoing best friend, the show blended animation with live-action as Buster traveled across North America — and later the world — meeting real kids and families from diverse cultures.

Armed with his video camera and endless curiosity, Buster documented each visit in playful “postcards,” introducing young viewers to new traditions, foods, and ways of life. Produced by WGBH Boston and Cookie Jar Entertainment, the series encouraged empathy, cultural awareness, and open-mindedness — all through the eyes of a cheerful cartoon rabbit.

Equal parts fun and educational, Postcards from Buster stood out as one of the most unique and inclusive children’s shows of the 2000s, showing that friendship — like travel — knows no borders.
